What Is a Hydraulic Accumulator and How Does It Work?
A hydraulic accumulator is a pressure vessel that performs a number of tasks in a hydraulic system. Accumulators are used to maintain pressure, store and recapture energy, reduce pressure peaks, provide suspension for vehicle chassis, and dampen shock, vibration and pulsation.
Under gas pressure, accumulators store a volume of fluid that can be fed back into the hydraulic system when required. When the pressure in the hydraulic system rises, the accumulator takes in pressurised fluid and the gas is compressed. When the pressure drops, the compressed gas expands again and forces the stored fluid back into the hydraulic circuit.
Welded Diaphragm Accumulators
Our welded diaphragm accumulators can be charged to pressures of up to 350 bar and are available in sealed versions.
Lightweight Diaphragm Accumulators
Lightweight diaphragm accumulators with aluminium shells are designed with an entirely new, innovative assembly concept using electromagnetic pulse technology. The significantly reduced weight opens up new opportunities for a wide range of applications.
